My Ward

Dalton Ward occupies, without doubt, an outstandingly beautiful part of the Borough of Allerdale.  It includes the parishes of Dean and Greysouthen and numerous lovely villages such as Ullock, Branthwaite, Eaglesfield, Deanscales, Pardshaw, Pardshaw Hall, as well as part of Bridgefoot and the surrounding area.

Dalton has inherited its name from the scientist, John Dalton, widely regarded as the father of atomic theory and one of West Cumbria's most famous sons.  The 250th anniversary of the birth of John Dalton will be celebrated in the village of Eaglesfield on September 10th 2016.

This area was the birthplace of another historical figure - equally famous but with a very different kind of reputation - the mutineer, Fletcher Christian.

I make every effort to attend all parish council meetings within the Ward as this is an excellent opportunity to meet local residents and find out what their concerns are.

If you are a resident of Dalton Ward, please do feel free to contact me using the details on this website.  Or, better still, I would love to see you at one of the parish council meetings!

I intend to start regular surgeries in the villages soon but please do not wait for these if you need to get in touch.
