The subject of the decision

 

The Head of Community Services submitted a report, which sought to provide members with a review of options for the short-term management of the waste and recycling contract and an options appraisal for longer-term service delivery models. 

 

Members considered the information and legal advice provided in the report and asked questions of the Officers present.

 

Councillor G Kemp moved the motion with the addition of a third recommendation. This was seconded by Councillor M Johnson. The recommendations were unanimously agreed.

 

Alternative options considered

 

A review of options for the short-term management of the waste and recycling contract were detailed in the report.

 

The reason for the decision

 

To establish cost effective waste and recycling services in Allerdale delivering to the needs of the local community.

Resolved

 

That –

 

1.  The emergency solution and the resources required be approved,

 

2.  The outline options appraisal be approved and to continue work to detailed options including only three potential options,

 

3.  The Head of Community Services be authorised to finalise negotiations on the interim agreement in consultation with the Executive.
